Develop knights before the queen

Qf6 brings your strongest piece out where knights and pawns can chase it — every attack on the queen develops White’s pieces for free. Nf6 does the same job of guarding e5 while developing a piece that wants to be attacked less, keeps your queen safe at home, and gets you a move closer to castling.

Habit · Before moving your queen in the opening, count your undeveloped minor pieces — if it’s more than one, move one of them instead.

What a fingerprint looks like

Puzzle apps drill everyone the same. Engine analysis shows lines without reasons. Videos can’t see your games. RookMentor starts from the only data that matters — what actually happens in your games — and tells you the one thing to fix next.
